The old cave pottery, in the old town of Avanos, has been used by Galip's
family for 6 generations. Now it is used to show
the traditional way of pottery making .
The kick wheel is still used and visitors can have
a try if they like .The pottery is built into a cave labyrinth full with all kinds of pottery,
china ware and tiles. In one part of it there is
the hair collection of Galip. There are
many other potteries and ateliers nearby - all specialized in different
things - sometimes buying from one another. Lilian,
Galip's wife , has her own style and also makes
murals ( relief work )
